360 Steakhouse

INTRODUCTION:

What could be a better outing than enjoying an evening with our long-time friends at 360 Steakhouse at the top of the Harrah’s Casino on New Year’s Eve? Literally nothing. It is a beautiful setting overlooking the icy Missouri river with views of the sun setting over Omaha. The staff anticipated the comfort of their diners before the diners even realized we needed something. The setting sun hits our eyes and just on cue the window blinds are lowered temporarily to reduce the glare. Minutes later, as the sun drops to the horizon, the blinds lift so we can see the resplendent colors of a beautiful winter sunset. The views are gorgeous and the décor is quiet elegance. Be sure to have reservations to guarantee your dining preference although the bar area has high-tops which you might be lucky getting one even if your slot machine doesn’t roll up triple 7’s.

THE FOOD AND BEVERAGES:

We start by ordering wine/beer/cocktails and peruse the appetizer menu. I could stop right there. We order Spinach and artichoke dip ($10) and a house flatbread Margherita ($12). Both are outstanding and the standard to which all other should be measured. The Spinach artichoke dip is a hearty value for your money, with a freshly baked round loaf of bread filled with the creamy dip and then additional pita chips. We could have easily have made our meal on these appetizers alone.

But the entrées are decided upon and ordered next.

360 Steakhouse excels at steaks. Omaha Steaks is their purveyor and there are options for all appetites, Filet mignon or Ribeye can all be paired with shrimp, rock lobster tails or jumbo lump crab cake. There are numerous seafood options including Gulf Shrimp, Diver Sea Scallops with a lemon-vodka cream sauce, Lobster trails, hard-seared salmon served with butternut squash risotto or Alaskan king crab. Additional menu options include double-cut pork chops, baby back ribs, lamb chops, French Chicken breasts or slow-roasted prime rib. This menu truly is a carnivore’s dream come true.

Patty and Jim both decided on the salmon with butternut risotto, Sarah chooses the French Chicken breast and Rick the double-cut pork chops. All entrees were served with a soup or salad and one side dish (baked potato, garlic-mashed potatoes, Fries, braised mushrooms, mac & cheese, Brussels sprouts, vegetable of the day, herb-butter asparagus or truffle creamed spinach. There is not a bad choice on the menu - just pick your favorite.

SUMMARY:

All entrees were outstanding; all sides were prepared perfectly, served to order and as expected. Service is outstanding with just enough attention to know we can ask for whatever we need but not feeling like we are being hovered over. There was no room for dessert but the dessert menu looks outstanding!

The 360 Steakhouse is one of Omaha-Council Bluffs finest/more expensive restaurant. But you will be satisfied with every aspect of the meal.
